Born in New Orleans, Louisiana led my artistic journey through a myriad experiences, exhibits, art shows, including renaissance fairs and festivals around the country. Through it all, my true sojourn, through my Art has lead my Soul to my own self discover; pondering every aspect of my life through the depiction of my Truth. Creating my personal, unusual art form turned essential for the telling of my story. In the beginning, I was (and still am) a watercolorist. Early on, I transformed my impressionistic works into abstracts and later added into the mix my fascination for dimension. Although watercolors allowed me to express my love for colors in liquid form, I always felt my art needed something more. Texture?! Everywhere I went I had to touch things. For that, as a knitter and one who also spins and dyes her own yarns from raw fiber, I wanted to somehow incorporate this into my artwork. (May I add, however, that creating yarn is an art form all to itself.) Included in the myriad of my artistic endeavors is my learning to become a licensed tattoo artist. The idea of artwork being able to be displayed in such an amazing way, on human skin, was a challenge I was driven to try, and with that, I’ve found a deep love for the process as well as the end result. All of these elements involve some form of liquid color, brushes and needles, which have all led to this Gallery of my single needle felting my paintings, which are all self created by raw fiber being carding and hand dyed specifically for each piece. By virtue of my love for design, with vast applications, delving into my personal interpretation and attributes, creates my joie de vivre, . . . my own freestyle creations, as I continue to think outside of the frame. The colors of my crayolas keep getting prettier and prettier.
