The central theme of this body of work is duality, exploring the nature of oppositional and complimentary forces. My paintings offer microcosms of dichotomy, staging fanciful confrontations and meetings of metaphoric figuration and abstraction. I’m interested in the interaction of these forms in a dynamic arena, capturing the moments of struggle and consequent merging, transformation, or destruction.
